▼ Wellcare: Wellcare ends its Medicare Advantage plans in Tennessee, Hawaii and Oklahoma for 2027

Wellcare has posted non-renewal notices for its Medicare Advantage members in Tennessee, Hawaii and Oklahoma. Their coverage ends Dec. 31, 2026, and they can join a new plan through the end of February 2027. Becker's, reviewing CMS data, reports that Centene is leaving all three states entirely and will sell only special needs plans in Nevada and Ohio. Centene will offer 210 MA plans in 2027, down from 303. Wellcare's 2027 commission schedule still pays the CMS maximum where it sells.

Your move

Pull your Wellcare Medicare Advantage clients in Tennessee, Hawaii and Oklahoma, and Nevada and Ohio clients on non-special-needs plans, and place them by Dec. 31. Clients who miss that date have a special enrollment period through Feb. 28, 2027. Each replacement policy pays first-year or like-plan commission under the new carrier's schedule, so check which one applies before you quote.
