Corrections

When we get something wrong, we fix it on the page and note what changed. This log lists every correction and clarification published on commission.health, newest first. To report an error, use the Submit Intel form and choose “Correction.”

  • Clarification: Fewer plans, shifting maps: the 2027 Medicare Advantage landscape for agents. We described Stephens’ figures for Centene, Humana, UnitedHealthcare and Elevance as “unique individual plans.” The source does not define the count, and the figures most likely reflect county-level plan offerings. The same wording was corrected in the Centene tracker record.
  • Clarification: Carrier Compensation Watch. We said Medigap commissions are set by state law. Medigap compensation is not capped by CMS in the way Medicare Advantage and Part D compensation is; carrier schedules and applicable state rules vary.
  • Correction: Humana’s 600,000 non-renewal letters are landing. An earlier version said clients who move to another carrier count as new enrollments. Under CMS rules, a move from one Medicare Advantage plan to another is generally paid at the renewal rate.

How we handle corrections

  • Factual errors are corrected on the page with a dated note explaining what changed.
  • Clarifications add context or fix wording that could mislead, without changing the underlying facts.
  • When a tracker record’s evidence label changes, for example from Reported to Confirmed, we update the label and the “Checked” date. Label changes are not listed here.
